We invite you to come live and work with us in Bulenga, Wakiso or to help as a volunteer from your home community.

Volunteer opportunities are open to all people 18 years and older regardless of ability. The primary languages in our area of Uganda are English and Luganda, so all volunteers must speak English.

To join our volunteer team please email us your resume, a list of your skills/interests, and tell us why you want to come live and volunteer in Uganda.

We are especially looking for people to help support our school projects, pig and poultry house construction and repairs, home repairs, Health/HIV/AIDS, water and sanitation (including well construction), vocational skills development, project planning and management or other skills that can help us transform our community. You do not need construction skills to join our team of builders in repairing homes and latrines of most needy community members or pig sties at the KACCAD farm.

KACCAD charges a nominal fee for volunteering to cover the cost of coordinating and training as well as lodging and meals. A deposit of 25% is required a month before your arrival in Uganda.  This deposit is non-refundable. The fee covers organizational support while you prepare for your travel to Uganda, airport pickup, transport to Bulenga, food and accommodation while volunteering, supervision, and a donation to KACCAD.

The fee does not cover airline tickets, visas, vaccinations, drinking water, leisure activities, or medical services. You’ll likely need $20-$40 a week to support a basic standard of living which includes drinking water, internet, transport, and a few western treats such as coffee and chocolate. Safaris and white water rafting are a bit more expensive. Check out a Lonely Planet or Bradt guide on Uganda for details about tours and activities.
