KACCAD has facilitated vocational skills training in areas including
tailoring, carpentry, financial management, and brick-laying. These
trainings target youth and teen mothers who are not in school and
are most in need of skills to earn a living.
As result of the brick-laying project initiated by KACCAD in Nakabugo
and Bulenga in Wakiso District many formerly unemployed youth are
actively earning an income from the sale of bricks. Some of these
youth have also been able to repair their homes using their new
skills.

KACCAD has also helped rent a carpentry workshop has within Bulenga.
This facility has been used to provide youth with hands on work
experience in furniture building.
This project like the micro enterprise project, the vocational
skills program has attracted a lot of community interest. Similarly,
KACCAD has not been able to keep up with the demand for services.
The project is in need of funding to pay for space rental, facilitation
of trainings, and teaching materials. Materials needed include construction
and brick laying tools. Tools that do not require electricity would
be most beneficial seeing that the electricity in Uganda is inconsistent.
Your donation of tools for construction, brick laying and machines
for tailoring would be greatly appreciated and well used. Financial
support of any of these projects would help them further reach the
community demand for skills training.
